Statistics 2019

2019 for CYBER10 was marked by digital releases and the increase on streaming numbers. The Compact Disc has officially vanished, becoming pieces for collectors only. Are these changes good or band? We never know for sure, but at least the vinyl discs are back, but CYBER10 hasn't embarked on this market yet. Below you can see our releases and statistics for 2019.

RELEASES

"The Lost European Pieces" (2019) by Holy Cross is an EP with some instrumental and different versions of the songs of Vaterland (2011)

Fight In The Name Of God (2019) by Clean Heart

This album was originally released in 2003 and given its importance and quality, CYBER10 remastered all the songs and released it also with an extra song, a live version of the song "Manipulation". Clean Heart was one of the best bands in São Paulo City in the early 00's.

Defenders Of The Empire (2019) by Epic Church
This single has only two songs "Rule, Britannia" and "The British Grenadiers". It's a nostalgic release with British patriotic songs but now in more Industrial versions, still resembling the Epic Church typical style.

Epic & Electronic Christmas (2019) by Epic Church

Epic Church has been releasing versions for traditional Christmas songs as the project has participated of the compilation called Dark Christmas, organised by David Slaya Smith. This album is a gathering of all those songs with some extras.

Canção Da Polícia Militar do Estado de São Paulo (2019) by Guerreiros Paulistas

Guerreiros Paulistas is a project which has as central theme for their songs the History and Culture of São Paulo. CYBER10 supported this release, which includes some versions for the anthem of the Military Police of the State of São Paulo.

This is an EP made by a combination of songs produced for the "Dark Christmas" series of David Slaya Smith (also with some exclusive versions). All songs have the typical Epic Church style, mixing the gothic and classical feeling with retro drum machines and synths.

History Of The Song

First of all, it's essential to know that "Canção da Polícia Militar do Estado de São Paulo" is the anthem of the Military Police of São Paulo State. In 1964, Captain Antonio Augusto Neves, head of the Public Relations area of the (then called) Paulista Public Force commented with General João Franco Pontes that military units usually have anthems but the "Bandeirante Militia" (nickname for the Paulista police) hadn't adopted anyone until that moment. A very important name was then called upon for this sacred mission: Guilherme de Almeida, whose reputation precedes him (lawyer, journalist, heraldist, film critic, poet, essayist, translator and a soldier and active voice during the civil war in 1932), “It is an honor for me to write the lyrics for the Anthem of the Public Force”, said Almeida. Captain Neves got concerned once he hadn't been having any answer from Almeida's results after quite a time. At some point Almeida answers and say “Captain, it's no use sitting down and trying to write the lyrics, inspiration must come. When it's ready, I'll call you ”. Later on, still in 1964, Captain Neves finally receives the call he so awaited. He immediately went to Almeida's office, read the lyrics and, emotionally, thanked him on behalf of the General Commander Pontes. After handing the lyrics to Major Conductor Alcides Jácomo Degobbi, the melody was created and played for the first time at Barro Branco Academy, on December 15, 1964, the commemorative date of creation of the Paulista Public Force, which later changed name to Polícia Militar do Estado de São Paulo (São Paulo's Military Police).

Guerreiros Paulistas' Comment on the Release

It was an old dream and it is now an honour to produce this release. The song has inspiring lyrics and an epic melody, a perfect combination. When I was a child, I got as gift a mini vinyl disc with this song on one side and the Brazilian anthem on the other side, I liked both songs equally, but something in the Paulista song used to touch me more, maybe it's its crescent melody, but what I can say is that since then I have had this affection for the Military Police's anthem. When I started studying the topic of the Paulista Revolution in 1932, I came across Guilherme de Almeida and I then I realised how admirable he was. He fought the war, he wrote poems (including the lyrics for the song in question), he even like and drew Heraldry (another passion I also share). I also discovered later on he wrote the lyrics for Canção do Expedicionário, the anthem for the Brazilian troops which fought during the WWII. After learning all that, I made it my mission to have a version of this song released by Guerreiros Paulistas.

CYBER10 Metal Storm (Special Edition) - 2019

For 2019 CYBER10 prepared the release of 2 compilations in Special Editions. For this edition of Metal Storm Christian bands which participated of previous volumes of this series and others are now gathered in a great sequence of 20 songs which includes Power Metal, Symphonic Metal, Doom Metal, Gothic Metal, New Metal and Extreme Metal. This playlist has bands which I really appreciate and I listen to, some of them are now inactive but in a time that creativity and originality seem to have left the metal scene, it's positive to have a list of interesting songs to listen to.

Esta é a edição especial (2019) da série "Metal Storm" que o selo CYBER10 preparou com bandas cristãs que participaram desta série (e outras) em edições anteriores, desde 2011. Este tipo de "coletânea de outras coletâneas" conta com 20 músicas que incluem os estilos Power Metal, Symphonic Metal, Doom Metal, Gothic Metal, New Metal e Metal Extremo. Esta playlist é composta por bandas que eu realmente admiro e escuto, algumas delas já acabaram hoje em dia, mas num tempo que a cena do metal está sem criatividade e originalidade, é interessante ter essa lista para ouvir.
