Track by Track: Guerreiros Paulistas EP (2006)
[PT] Sobre o CD
Nós tínhamos a idéia de uma banda de rock cantando sobre elementos culturais do Estado de São Paulo and esta demo foi nossa primeira tentativa em fazer isso.
[EN] About the Album
We had the idea of a rock band singing about cultural elements of São Paulo State and this demo release was our first attempt on doing that.
Style: Rock, Hardcore
01 - Guerreiros Paulistas - Bons Velhos Tempos (Tumulto 64 cover)
[EN] Tumulto 64 was a band which sang songs about São Paulo, in a straight way. So as a starting band, we naturally made a cover. We personally liked the instrumental result at the end of the recording.
02 - Guerreiros Paulistas - Hino a Tremembé (acoustic)
[PT] Isso é parte do queríamos fazer em relação a manter as raízes. A intenção era gravar o hino da cidade em versão mais rock, mas não foi possível na época, então ficamos com a versão acústica.
[EN] This is part of what we meant when we said we wanted to keep the roots. The intention was to record this town's anthem in a Rock version, but it wasn't possible at that time, so we kept the acoustic version.
03 - Guerreiros Paulistas - Bons Velhos Tempos (live)
[PT] A mesma música da faixa 1 mas agora em versão ao vivo.
[EN] The same as track 1 but in a live version.

One more time I had a chance to go a concert of Rodox, now straight after the band released their second album which is called RODOX. The concert was opened by Houdini, which presented a good melodic hardcore, warming up the public before Rodolfo would come with his army. For some reason I didn't take any photo of this day, I was probably just enjoying the show, but there are photos of the first concert Rodox did at CCSP in January.

Rodox no Centro Cultural São Paulo (CCSP) - 17 de Janeiro de 2003

Rodolfo Abrantes was the vocalist for the Brazilian rock band Raimundos, a band which used to mix rock/hardcore with dirty lyrics and folk Northeastern music. They became huge in Brazil in the 90's.
In 2001, Rodolfo leaves Raimundos officially and starts a new band called Rodox.
In 2002 they released Estreito, a powerful hardcore / metalcore release and it was an instant success with the public.
A concert was announced for January 17, 2023 and I was decided to go. The concert was intense, Rodolfo was energetic as usual and the crowd knew all songs and would sing along enthusiastically (including the writer here). Rodox also played a P.O.D. cover "Alive" and the public welcomed it very well. At the end of the concert I was in sweats but very satisfied with all I saw. It's worth mentioning the technique and ferocity of Fernandão (Fernando Schaefer) who got the attention of people many times during the concert.

| We managed to take photos with some members of the band, including Rodolfo and Fernandão. I was wearing my white Exousia t-shirt and I remember telling Rodolfo "I'm glad you're a brother now". |
I only had a camera on me (not even digital yet) but Karabina had a camcorder and luckily we now able to check the whole concert.
